On October 14th, students will receive their first report cards for the year. Since we began the school year, student have been given the chance to resubmit classwork, test, and quizzes in order to recover points they may have lost. Over the next two weeks, students will be given multiple opportunities to recover their grade. For example, Wednesday can earn you ten extra credit points!

Hello!!! Welcome to 8th grade ELA. This year we will be working on building a number of different skills. These include: Reading Reading Comprehension Using Prefixes and Suffixes to understand words Deeply analyzing a text Building vocabulary Writing Narrative writing Argumentative writing Persuasive writing AND LOTS MORE!!!!!! ReadingThis year students have a Reading Enrichment course that is given in addition to their 8th grade English/ Language Arts class. The Reading Enrichment focuses on developing the students' reading abilities. English/ Language Arts introduces students to amazing literature and encourages them to become critical thinkers. WritingThis year students will have a writing intensive courses. That means that they will spend a lot of time learning how to write logical and compelling writing pieces. We will explore narrative, explanatory and informative writing.
